The Zebra Bus is basically unmodified. It is powered by a reconditioned stock 1600cc Volkswagen type1 horizontally opposed, air-cooled, four cylinder engine. The engine drives through the stock four-speed manual transmission, which has also been fully overhauled. The brake system and all wheel bearings have also been renewed. Electrical system is 12 volt charged by an alternator. The car was painted white a year ago and has been finished in zebra stripes. The interior is being custom built for this journey.
